In the city of Guangzhou, in China, the UNStudio architecture firm recently completed the interior design project and the façade of the new OPPO flagship store, one of the leading Chinese mobile phone brands and one of the largest manufacturers of smart devices in the world. The architects rely on the design of the façade to guide store visitors towards a new experience aimed at discovering the brand and its products, while the new interior design becomes a reflection of the brand's renewed corporate identity.
For its third store in Singapore, Apple has inaugurated a space that promises an unforgettable experience for its customers. A self-supporting domed structure made entirely of glass, which makes the store appear like a floating sphere on Marina Bay’s waters, a precious gemstone and a celebration of light. The project was designed by the Foster and Partners architectural firm in collaboration with Apple’s design team.
July 31 saw the official opening in Bangkok of Apple Central World, the second and largest Apple store in Thailand. The building in Ratchaprasong, located at one of the Thai city’s iconic intersections, appears almost sculptural. The glass structure and large cantilevered wooden roof is supported by a central pillar. The project was designed by Foster + Partners design studio in collaboration with the Apple team and local architectural practices F&P (Thailand) Ltd. and Architects 49 Ltd.
Architects Gianluca Puccio and Andrea Collodoro, founders of PuccioCollodoro Architetti studio, masterminded the interior design for the Melania Caruso Flagship Store. Located in a 1970s building in Palermo’s historic city center, the architects created what they define as Minimalist-Pop, a balanced fusion of geometric precision and elegant explosion of color.
July 17, 2020 saw the official opening of the new Apple Sanlitun store designed by Foster + Partners studio in collaboration with the Cupertino company’s technical team. The store takes its name from the vibrant Sanlitun quarter in Beijing where it is located. The area chosen is once again in Taikoo square adjacent to the site of the previous showroom which was Apple’s first store in China, built in 2008.
The Spanish interior design agency and consultancy Masquespacio, headed by Ana Milena Hernández and Christophe Penasse, has been commissioned to develop the first concept store for RUBIO, the famed publisher of educational workbooks that have been part of Spanish schoolchildren’s studies for the last 60 years.
