The winners of the 24th edition of the IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards

The IIDA association, in collaboration with the Hospitality Design magazine, recently announced the winners of the 24th edition of the IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards. The jury of experts selected four winning products and judged them to be adequate to the needs of the hospitality sector, sustainable and, above all, human-centred. Among the winners, in the Flooring/Hard Surfaces category, we find the Liquid Cosmo Grey collection by Iris Ceramica Diesel Living.



The winners of the 24th edition of the IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards

The 24th edition of theIIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards, an annual competition organised by theIIDAassociation in collaboration with theHospitality Designmagazine has recently concluded. The expert jury was made up of designers, architects and industry professionals, includingMari Ansera, IIDA, ASID, senior associate of HGA Architects and Engineers,Mike Johnson II, IIDA, senior associate of Perkins&Will andAlexis Moore, IIDA, healthcare designer for Gresham Smith. For the 2021 edition, of the eight categories honoured by the awards (Applied finishes and materials, Textiles, Flooring, Seating - Individual, Seating - Group, Lighting, Casegoods and freestanding furniture, Accessories or specialities) the jurors nominated the winners of only four categories.
Cheryl S. Durst, Executive Vice President and chief executive officer of IIDA, stressed just how the winners of this 24th edition demonstrate strong attention in the face of the rapidly changing needs of the hospitality industry, offering products that are timely,sustainable and above all human-centred.

TheLiquid Cosmo Grey ceramic surfaces by Iris Ceramica Diesel Livingfor theFlooring – Hard Surfaces类别,针对所有类型的地板,地毯/rugs and hard surfaces.

Finally, theTonon Italia Sailor Collection chairs by Sandler Seating, designed byGuggenbichler Designwere selected for theSeating: Group – Outdoorcategory, as well being the winners of theEric Engstrom Best of Competition Award.

The IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards are part of the activities focused on the promotion and development of interior design undertaken by theIIDAassociation. The acronym, in fact, stands for theInternational Interior Design Association, which is based in Chicago and supports all players of the interior design sector: designers, students, teachers, industries and companies in the sector, as well as their customers. The Association promotes training and design excellence among operators, together with the promotion and the diffusion of the sector’s products and services to consumers. The central purpose of the institution is, in fact, to increase the awareness and understanding of interior design, both from an economic point of view, as basic elements that can help increase the commercial value of a property, and as a key player forthe positive impact on the health and everyday well-being that interiors have on people’s lives.
